Complacency. It affects organizations and individuals, even the best. Sometimes we forget the fundamentals because everything is going so well. Sometimes "good enough" becomes the driving concept instead of something more aspiring.
When we trust, but do not verify, are we complacent or aspiring? Can a school district lose control of standards, assessments, and teacher evaluations and still be responsive to the local people?
Involvement. A proactive citizenry interacting with a responsive school board will ensure a district that reflects the true core of our community.
There is no problem so large we cannot solve it by becoming engaged in the process. The discussion and resulting political will of our community is up to any problem large or small.

It doesn't have to take a lot of time or effort. But whatever time and effort you put into the education of children in your community, will be a blessing to your community for generations to come.
